"Details": "The Madison Police Department would like to remind residents and visitors to the area around Warner Park that they should expect heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic, traffic and bus delays, closed streets, parking restrictions, and traffic and bus detours on Thursday, July 3rd from approximately 9:15 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. due to the fireworks show.\u00a0\u00a0\r\n\u00a0\r\nShortly before the fireworks conclude, a very restrictive traffic plan will be implemented on North Sherman Avenue and Northport Drive.\u00a0 Vehicles will only be allowed to continue straight and/or take right turns to keep traffic moving away from the area around Warner Park, including parking lots.\r\n\u00a0\r\nThe Madison Police Department needs your help to make this event safe and fun for everyone. "Details": "Madison Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of E Washington Ave after a caller had noticed their bicycle was taken from their underground parking ramp. Officers then located a male with the stolen bicycle in Olbrich Park. The male then began to pedal away from officers as they tried to contact him.\n\r\nHe then abandoned the bike and went into the water on Lake Monona, ignoring several commands from officers. An uninvolved boat was able to throw the male a flotation device before allowing officers onto their boat to contact the male that was still out in the water.\n\r\nMadison Police requested the assistance of the Dane County Sheriff's Office whom were able respond and apprehend the male from the water. Custody of the male was then turned over to the Madison Police Department. The male, Brandon Reuter, was taken to the hospital for medical clearance and then booked into jail for Resisting and Possession of Stolen Property.\nReleased 07/01/2025 at 11:14 AM by P.O. He tells officers that he was walking his dog in the park when another dog chews through its caller and his dog. As his dog is attacked, the male gets his handgun stating that if the dog does not stop attacking his dog, he would shoot it.\n\r\nInvestigation shows that the male is a valid CCW holder however he did not have his CCW card on him. He was issued a misdemeanor citation for failure to carry CCW card. The other dog owner involved was given a citation for having a dog off leash.
